Hues Helps!

Social Justice Statement

The Hues Company is building on a platform of progressive social justice in a way that ensures all people of color are considered and have a voice in society.

Our goal is always to be mindful of our roots and rich history. Annually, The Hues Company will identify and donate 1% of all its sales to a cause, foundation or event whose mission benefits our cultural community. To extend this social justice initiative, our customers will also be provided the opportunity to give through The Hues Company website.

It is important that each one of us find a way to give back to our communities. Find ways to help the word at large and specifically the culturally diverse world. Pay forward and leave the earth and its inhabitants in a better state than how it was left for us!

Thank you for being socially conscious!

The Hues Company participating in the following events recently as part of our social justice mission;

U.S. Bank Black History Month Salute to Small Businesses

On Feb 22, 2017 The Hues Company participated this event, held at the Machine Shop, to highlight minority small business owners and introduce the diversity and inclusion platform to which U.S. Bank remains committed.

The event included a panel discussion, and The Hues Company was grateful to have one of its co-founders, Dr. Jasmine L. Harris, sit on the panel, which also included Tomme Beevas founder of Pimento Jamaican Kitchen and Al McFarlane from Insight News.  The questions to the panel were geared to help small business owners in the audience gain insights on entrepreneurship. It was an energetic and inspiring discussion.

By participating in this event, we hope that what Dr. Harris shared about our own experiences helped at least one owner stay the course.

We appreciate the opportunity to talk about our journey and will look for more occasions such as these in the future.  More information about the event can be found here.
